Two new roundabouts will mean better flowing traffic in the Gran Vía of La Manga del Mar Menor in time for the summer season of next year. Construction of the first of them has already begun. The roundabout of the Gran Vía de La Manga in Ribera Sur has a budget of 217,000 euros, financed by the Department of Public Works and the Town Hall of Cartagena and with a time limit of execution of three months.
The Councillor of Public Works and Town Planning, José Ballesta, along with dignatories today placed the foundation stone and announced that very soon works will start on the other roundabout which will be at the entrance of La Manga in the area of Los Triolas.
Ballesta emphasized that this stretch of road is used by some 60,000 vehicles pere day during the height of the summer and that CartagenaTown Hall and its Council have been working for some time to improve it.
The Councillor of Infrastructures of the Town Hll of Cartagena has assured that with the construction of these two roundabouts together with a third which will be constructed after the summer, the traffic problem in the Gran Vía of La Manga will be alleviated. The Town Hall has also agreed with the Manga Consorcio to execute a study of traffic in the area to determine other measures that should be carried out.
